EastEnders Knight family 'exposed': Wife's true identity, Christmas death and Cindy link

EastEnders ' George Knight is clearly hiding something, with twists and turns ahead - and now fans think theyv'e worked out what he is up to.

Viewers are convinced the character will soon be exposed, after the news that the Knight family might have a "dark past".

What is known is that George's wife Rose Knight has been missing ever since she walked out on the family around nine years ago, while her fate is unknown.

We also don't know her identity, while fans are convinced she could be returning villain Cindy Beale.

Ahead of the truth finally being revealed later this month, fans have predicted more drama on the way from an affair and a brutal murder, to a possible scam. Here's the biggest theories about the new family...

EastEnders viewers have 'worked out' all sorts of twists ahead for George Knight (BBC)

Christmas death

Viewers know that a male character will be killed this Christmas in a huge twist, with six females currently a suspect.

A flashforward clip earlier this year revealed the death happens at The Queen Vic, with Sharon Watts, Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Denise Fox, Stacey Slater and Linda Carter all present.

Amid theories about more characters being involved, viewers have shared their theories that George is up to no good and could end up being the victim.

Cindy Beale identity twist

Amid Cindy's random return to the show later this year, fans have questioned whether she could be the girls' mother who is thought to be dead, or missing - making her George's wife.

In one scene, Anna and Gina were shown rowing over a memory box or jewellery box that belonged to their mum, with them not meant to have it.

Anna said she needed something to remember her mother by - and fans questioned if this scene was important.

Going on the theory that Cindy could be their mother, viewers made the point that Cindy's daughter Lucy Beale was killed with a jewellery box in 2014.

Not only that but she was accidentally killed by her brother Bobby, the same Bobby who had scenes with the girls in this episode.

Viewers also picked up on the girls having scenes with Kathy Beale too, Lucy's grandmother, and the fact that if their mother vanished around nine years ago out of the blue, this was the same year Cindy's daughter was killed - so could the tragic news have caused her to flee?

Another possible hint was when Anna made a comment about Walford being familiar and "like they belong there", which left many fans believing it was a huge clue to their mother being a past character.

Elaine scam

Another theory viewers have about George and the Knights is that Elaine, George's new partner and Linda's mother, is being scammed.

With more to be revealed about the family and George's past, and George taking cryptic phone calls, fans are questioning if the character is using Elaine for her money and the pub.

There's speculation that he may have killed his missing wife too, so fans are wondering if Elaine could be next!

Is George a killer?

With the news that George's wife has been missing for years, as well as his odd behaviour, fans have questioned if Rose Knight is actually dead.

Rose is said to have walked out on the family nine years ago, but with her disappearing without a trace could she have met a devastating end?

George's odd behaviour and him being secretive about his wife has left some fans asking if he might be a killer, and if he made up the story about his wife after murdering her.

Linda affair

One final theory about George that fans are guessing will happen is a shock affair.

After George and Linda's recent tension, which is only set to continue, viewers wondered whether the pair could end up having a romance.

Linda is involved in the Christmas death, and with fans wondering if George could be the victim an affair could be a motive for her or Elaine taking revenge.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
