EastEnders' Jack Ryder fans stunned he's 'aged so well' 18 years after leaving Jamie Mitchell role

Ex EastEnders star Jack Ryder has shocked fans as he returned to the limelight 18 years after leaving the soap.

The actor, now aged 38, played hunky Jamie Mitchell from 1998 until 2002 when his character was killed off.

Jack appeared on ITV's Loose Women on Thursday to talk about his new children's book and the happy news that his wife Ella is expecting a baby this summer.

But fans couldn't concentrate on the interview and instead were left stunned by how well their old childhood crush was looking these days.

"Jack Ryder is so fit," one Twitter user commented.

Jack's EastEnders character Jamie had one of the most iconic death scenes in the soap's history after he was run over Martin Fowler.

Speaking about the scene today, Jack said: "On one side of the coin it's gone so quickly, but then so much has happened since then.

"It's bizarre seeing that last episode. It was a sad end for the character."
