EastEnders has given fans a first look at heartbreaking upcoming scenes on the BBC soap, as Dot Cotton is laid to rest in Walford.
BBC viewers heard the soap legend's voice one last time as well as a recording of the late June Brown as the tribute to the late star gets underway.
The new EastEnders spoiler photos show a sombre scene on Albert Square, as Dot’s coffin travels through the soap set on a horse drawn carriage hearse.
The residents of Walford are seen clad in black with heads downcast on the heartbreaking day as they walk past the infamous Queen Victoria pub.
The farewell episode comes after June Brown died earlier this year, after more than 20 years of playing the iconic Walford matriarch, whose death on the soap was announced this week on the soap.
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) took the news of Dot's death particularly hard, staying up all night looking at pictures of her grandmother through marriage.
Sonia is then overwhelmed when Reverend Mills calls to say they can do Dot’s funeral on Monday.
With the help of Martin, Sharon, Patrick, Jay and Kathy, she is able to pull everything together to give Dot the send-off she deserves.
Although Sonia’s heart is full seeing Dot’s loved ones rallying around, when left alone with Martin, it all gets too much for her and she bursts into tears.
Later, Dot returns home for the final time as her body is taken to her former residence at No 25.
Upon hearing that Dot’s body is now at home, where Sonia is keeping a vigil, Whitney, Dotty and Jack arrive so they can all be together to support her.
Soon, the group share their memories of Dot and they all comfort Sonia and each other, as they remember the late character ahead of her final send-off.
The special tribute episode was announced earlier this year, when the show's executive producer Chris Clenshaw said: "Everyone at EastEnders was truly heartbroken when June passed away earlier this year.
"For quite a while, no-one could even think about saying goodbye to Dot; an iconic character who will go down in television history and be cherished forever.
"June was always adamant that she never wanted Dot's time to end while she was still with us, but she also knew that EastEnders would rightly say their farewells to Dot when the time was right.
"Sadly that time has come, and we are determined to give the audience, who treasured Dot for so many years, the fitting tribute that she so deeply deserves.
"So whilst it will be a very, very sad day in Walford, we will be giving Dot the send-off that she and June would want and rightly deserve."
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
