EastEnders fans uncover 'proof' Keanu Taylor isn't dead - and Ben Mitchell knows

EastEnders fans believe they've rumbled Keanu Taylor's true fate after his brutal Christmas Day murder - and they have "proof".

Viewers of the BBC soap have been trying to work out what happened to Keanu ever since Martin Fowler appeared to shoot him dead for the Mitchells.

Keanu's affair with Sharon Mitchell was exposed, as was the fact he is the real father of her unborn baby.

The Mitchells took revenge and had him killed, but fans are convinced this never happened ahead of the special flashback episode revealing all.

There's theories circulating over whether Martin helped Keanu escape, and whether Linda Carter may have been involved after major hints.

But some viewers think they have cracked the code and that Ben Mitchell has more of a role in Keanu's killing than it seems.

In fact, they don't believe Keanu is even dead, and think that Ben knows this.

A huge theory is that Ben pretended to order Martin to shoot Keanu dead, but actually planned for his brother-in-law to flee Walford alive.

The proof? Viewers claim it all comes down to Ben's conversation with Martin after the death.

Martin appeared to show Ben a clip of him killing Keanu, leaving him on the floor with blood around his head - while viewers didn't see the actual clip of him getting shot.

Ben's reaction appeared to confirm Keanu was dead, while his name was not mentioned - and Ben didn't even ask what he'd done with the body.

Since then, Martin hasn't been seen getting rid of a body, despite burning evidence on a fire in the woods, and Ben still hasn't asked at all about Keanu's remains.

Fans claim this proves Keanu isn't dead and Ben likely knows this, as they think the first thing Ben would have asked was what had happened to the supposedly dead character.

Taking to Twitter one fan said: "WHY DIDN'T BEN ASK WHERE THE BODY IS!!!!! That’s the first thing you’d ask. There’s no body cos Ben's in on the double cross and knew Martin helped Keanu flee."

Another said: "My theory is that Ben changed his mind (maybe because of the wallet???), though. I think he wanted Keanu's death faked and something went wrong and Tubbs died. It will be interesting to see which theories are correct and which ones are not."

Ben and Phil vowed to make Keanu pay (BBC/Jack Barnes)

A third agreed: "When Martin shows Ben the Keanu video he says he disposed of the gun, but he doesn't mention what he did with the body and Ben doesn't ask. This only makes sense if Ben knows Keanu's alive."

Others were not so sure though, given Ben appeared determined to see Keanu die.

A viewer commented: "Ben wouldn't have said you really did it if he didn’t see Keanu getting shot."

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
