EastEnders fans were baffled by Whitney Dean's relation to Dot Cotton after they spotted her at the Walford legend's funeral.
Whitney, who is played by Shona McGarty, was seen saying goodbye to Dot with the rest of the family on the emotional episode.
June Brown, who plays Dot Cotton, passed away at the age of 95, and the soap paid tribute to her by giving her character a funeral.
In recent scenes, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), who plays Dot's granddaughter, got a phone call to say that Dot had died.

However, fans were left baffled when Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) was present at Dot Cotton's coffin saying goodbye with the rest of the family.
But many fans questioned their relation with one user asking: "How is Whitney related to Dot?
"I didn't know they had that much to do with each other, so that final scene from today's episode has really confused me," another added.
"How is Whitney that close to Dot? # EastEnders," a third chimed.
Another penned: "Not sure why Whitney is there? Have I missed a family connection somewhere?"
"Whitney's relation to Dot? Long lost dog sitter? I am confused as to why she is there," one person joked.
Trying to educate social media users on their relationship, one user wrote: "Whitney is Bianca's stepdaughter, Bianca's mum is Carol and Jim was her dad and obv Jim was married to Dot.
"So Whitney is kinda a great stepdaughter,"
Another added: "Bianca and Sonia are sisters Bianca is Whitney’s adoptive mother, plus Dot majorly help Whitney when she was going through the stuff with Tony." (sic)
Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and her mum Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) were both regulars on the show.
Carol was Jim Branning's daughter from his first marriage before he married Dot.
And then Whitney is the adoptive daughter of Bianca, who has been in the family since she was four.

During the tear-jerking scenes as the actors say goodbye to both Dot and June, Sonia was seen breaking down as she sobbed: "I'm not ready to say goodbye."
Fans clearly felt the same, with one writing: "That last scene was devastatingly good, not ready for next week #EastEnders."
"I have to say, big applause for @bbceastenders making the ending of each episode about Dot have either no sound or respectful music and not the duff duffs, tonight's episode was a great example. #EastEnders," another added.
