EastEnders ' Emma Harding sparked theories yet again on Monday night thanks to her odd behaviour - and fans are convinced she's got a dark past.
In the latest episode she was keen to spend time with her daughter Lola Pearce on Mother's Day, amid Lola's health battle.
Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year and was told her condition was terminal, with the tumour inoperable.
Amid fears Lola doesn't have long left, Emma was keen to spoil her on the day much to the annoyance of Lola's young daughter Lexi.
But conversation soon turned to Emma's own mother, and it became apparent there was something she was hiding.
Initially she talked of her mother being glamorous, before sharing the sad news she had passed away.
Emma told Lola that her mother had died in a care home during lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Later on in the episode, Lola and Lexi decided to find out more about their late relative but it got a weird reaction.
As Lexi asked for information about the great-grandmother she never got to meet, Emma looked panicked.
As Lola said she too wanted to know more about her, Emma suddenly changed the topic before fleeing the house.
Clearly hiding something, Emma told the girls that she needed to leave as she was meant to be helping her elderly neighbour with something.
When Lola quizzed her about it, she made up a story about forgetting her plans before pretty much running out the door.
It was clear that Lola and her partner Jay Brown didn't believe her or were at least confused by her sudden departure.
Viewers watching the episode were quick to suspect Emma was hiding something about her past, and that she might be lying about her mother's death.
Taking to Twitter, viewers guessed she might not even be Lola's mother in a sick twist, or perhaps she killed her own mum.
One viewer said: "Emma not wanting to talk about her mum when Lexi mentions it. Yeah she's definitely lying. I wonder if she killed her mum?"
Another tweeted: "I get the feeling her mum hasn’t died! I don’t trust Emma at all!"

A third fan added: "I think that Emma might be telling porkies about her 'mother'," as a fourth tweeted: "She's not Lola's mum is she?"
Meanwhile, a fifth viewer said: "Her mum died during lockdown? I thought she said both of her parents were dead? Did I mishear that?"
