EastEnders fans were delighted to see Lisa Fowler make her long awaited return to the BBC soap tonight.
The Mirror exclusively revealed earlier this year that Lisa would be making her return to Walford with her granddaughter Peggy. She hasn't been seen on screens for four years, when she made a brief return to coincide with Louise's exit.
The pair have been living in Portugal, raising little Peggy but as Lisa made her return, it was obvious things hadn't been easy in Portugal. She admitted to Sonia that it had been tough, and Louise had been struggling after what happened with Keanu.
As the episode began, Lisa was seen giving the taxi driver the run around and not paying for her fare, before she later bumped into Sonia and admitted why she was back. It caused a problem for Keanu, as he was desperate to see Peggy but Lisa wouldn't allow it without him giving her £3000 in what she called 'backdated child maintenance'.
Lisa's return comes as a number of big names make their return to Walford. Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) are making a huge return this summer, alongside Peter Beale. Jacqueline Jossa also made a brief one episode return as Lauren Branning to coincide with the huge Cindy Beale return.
Fans are now convinced they've 'worked out' why she's really back - as they are convinced she's not telling the truth.
"I bet Lisa needs Keanu consent for Legal Guardianship. #EastEnders," one wrote, as a second added: "So Louise has descended down a downward spiral of drugs and alcohol. I wonder if Lisa kidnapped Peggy and accused Lou of being an "Unfit mother" #EastEnders."
A third shared: "Lisa is back and she wants revenge on Keanu. I also think that Lisa or Louise might be in financial difficulty with the Bailiffs etc. There is more to her return then just "Revenge" on Keanu #EastEnders."
Lucy previously revealed Lisa's arrival will cause "plenty of drama".
She previously told The Mirror: "I can’t wait to return as Lisa after leaving for Portugal with Louise and Peggy in 2019. No doubt, in true Lisa fashion, she will bring plenty of drama for many of the characters, which is why playing her is such a delight."
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw said at the time her return was announced: "We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Lisa back for a short while as she and Peggy cause trouble between the happy couple, Sharon and Keanu."
