EastEnders fans have been left speculating who Linda Carter’s mystery phone caller could be after suspicious scenes aired on Wednesday evening.
The BBC One soap saw Linda torn over what to do about selling Mick Carter's share of the pub, after his death at Christmas.
The pub landlord, played by Danny Dyer, disappeared from the BBC soap in dramatic scenes on Christmas Day, which saw him lost at sea off the cliffs of Dover.
The scenes on Wednesday evening in Albert Square saw Linda receive some advice from Patrick Trueman about what to do with The Queen Vic.
Later on in the episode, Linda was then seen making a secretive phone call trying to encourage the mystery person at the other end of the line to buy the infamous Walford drinking hole.
EastEnders fans have been left speculating a new owner of The Queen Vic could be on the horizon, as they took to social media to share their theories.
One viewer tweeted: “OMG so Linda actually's plotting on totally ditching both Nish/Suki & Sharon but just who was she actually speaking to exactly? Gotta be Shirley, no?”
A second wrote: “I really can't believe that Linda is this torn over what to do about selling Mick's share of the pub, Sharon is her best friend and she should see that!!”
A third suggested: “Bet Linda was calling Elaine and she’s the one who buys Mick's share! Want Sharon and Linda to run it though, if Linda doesn’t want things changed she could just tell her.”
It comes after a dramatic week in Walford, following a major twist with a sneak flash forward to this Christmas’s storyline.
EastEnders teased a shock new Albert Square murder victim in a grisly flash forward scene on Monday evening.
The sensational twist foreshadowed the death of one character – but their identity is under wraps until Christmas.
BBC One soap fans are already aware that Kat and Phil are set to get married at Christmas this year, but it was instead Sharon wearing a wedding dress in the flash forward scene.
The explosive episode centred around the lives of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, kicking off a major new storyline.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Suki Panesar ( Balvinder Sopal ), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Kathy Beale's (Gillian Taylforth) lives are set to change forever on the BBC One soap.
EastEnders fans will have to wait until Christmas Day 2023 to find out the identity of the murdered victim, who the murderer was and how it all went down.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
