EastEnders fans are convinced they've worked out a huge twist in Sam Mitchell's plan to plot revenge on Lewis.
The bartender horrifically raped Ben Mitchell in terrifying scenes earlier this year, with mum Kathy Beale and dad Phil Mitchell now knowing exactly what went down between Lewis and Ben following his split from Callum.
Ben recently found himself in hospital amid his battle with drugs, as Phil and Kathy rushed to be by his side. Seeing what the whole ordeal has done to his son, Phil was adamant to get his revenge and set a plan in motion to see Lewis pay for his crimes.
He asked for the help of someone he knew from his dark past, for the right price, but later changed his mind after Kathy overheard him making a phone call. Meanwhile, Sam - facing the wrath of Phil - was determined to make amends with her brother, and hatched a plan with Zack to find Lewis and make sure he paid for what he'd done.
She was sure it would help her bond with Phil again, but fans are sure they've worked out a twist in the tale.
"Phil’s being reasonable. That’s not a good sign. #EastEnders," one fan suggested.
Another added: "Phil acting like he wouldn’t get caught for attacking Lewis like he’s not a serial offender and been behind bars multiple times. #EastEnders."
"Phil agreed to Kathy's way but with Sam tryna get back into the family will she screw things up #EastEnders," a third penned.
Following his horrifying rape ordeal, Ben has been struggling and turned to drugs in a bid to cope with it all. He had been increasingly taking the illegal substances after being influenced by others.
Meanwhile, his dad Phil recently learned about the horrific things he had been through.
In scenes airing recently, Kathy begged him: "He needs our help Phil. He doesn't even want to live," but Phil said he was completely "done" with the whole situation, adding: "No I'm done with him, it's just words, he doesn't mean it."
She then replied: "He's our son and he's broken. He's just lashing out. He's hurting Phil. We don't get to just walk away."
As Phil urged her not to make "excuses" for him, she confessed: "I get it, because I have been there. Doing the right thing, knowing what the right thing even is. He's going to hate me for this, but you're his dad.
"You and me Phil, we shouldn't have any secrets. This, all of this, is because Ben was raped."
