EastEnders viewers were hoping for the return of Zoe Slater on the BBC soap, as her estranged mother Kat hoped to invite her to her wedding to Phil Mitchell.
Stacey Slater's daughter Lily caught Kat crying while holding a wedding invitation that was addressed to Zoe.
Kat claimed she was fine, but Lily confided in her mum that she was upset about the distance between her and her daughter.
Lily appeared to be up to something on her phone, when she realised Kat hadn't sent the invite to her daughter.
Now, fans are hoping this could be the moment Zoe finally returns after 17 years away from Walford.
Zoe left in 2005, and since then her and her mother have not been on talking terms.
In 2015 it was revealed Zoe was in Spain, and she made it clear she did not want a reconciliation with her mum then, and it seems to have stayed that way.
But with Freddie Slater making a return to the soap, with a new actor playing the role, fans are hoping Zoe may finally return to Walford and attend the wedding.
Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: "Wonder will zoe make an appearance?"
Another said: "Invitation for Zoe? God, I would love it if she turned up for Kat’s wedding."
A third fan tweeted: "Kat looking at her invite to Zoe. bring her back," as another commented: "OMG A ZOE, LYNNE AND LITTLE MO MENTION ALL IN THE SPACE OF LIKE A MINUTE. BRING THEM BACK NOWWWWWWW."
In the same episode, Kat learned her sisters Lynne and Little Mo would not be heading to Walford for the big day.
It has been confirmed that Big Mo is headed back to the show briefly, and also Kat's ex-husband Alfie Moon is returning.
Little Mo's son Freddie will be joining the family too, having left the show as a baby in 2006.
So there is still hope yet that more Slaters will return in the near future, while it's yet to be confirmed what will happen with Zoe.
