EastEnders fans have been left in shock after Chelsea made a huge decision about her future now Gray Atkins has been caught.
Chelsea helped to bring her murdering husband down, after he killed his ex-wife Chantelle Atkins, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi, and as the rest of the Square reacted to the news that Gray had murdered all those people, Chelsea was by her son's side in hospital.
Jordan has had a rough start to his life, with a string of health issues after he arrived prematurely and as Chelsea sat by his bedside, she admitted to Whitney she wanted to put her son up to adoption.
Sitting next to the hospital bed, Chelsea told Whitney she wanted to be able to move on without happened.
"The only thing that matters now is him. I've made a decision. Once he's better I'm going to put him up for adoption," she admitted as she looked longingly at her son, who she has with her evil ex.
Fans were devastated by Chelsea's admission.
"Chelsea you cannot give up Jordan for adoption. You're a great mother #EastEnders," one wrote, whilst a second penned online: "Was not expecting that #EastEnders." A third shared: " #EastEnders Whoa! Adoption Chelsea, what?!"
"ADOPTION WHERE!!! Jordan ain't going NOWHERE!!!!! #EastEnders," a fourth wrote.
A fifth penned online: "Nah the way Chelsea reacted when she saw Jordan again and the way she tried to protect him from Gray no way she would give him up for adoption. #EastEnders."
" #EastEnders great episode. Didn't expect that from Chelsea saying that," another wrote.
However, others were more understanding of Chelsea's decision.
They penned: "I will absolutely understand if chelsea gives up jordan, it may end up being a blessing and a chance at better life away from the memory of his dad for him #Eastenders."
Gray actor Toby Alexander-Smith felt the character getting his comeuppance was a "satisfying" end to the storyline.
"I think all of the audience have obviously wanted justice for Chantelle, Tina and Kush for so long and it was important that we showed that justice and that comeuppance," he said.
"There was no room for him to have an easy way out and it would have been wrong if they'd have done that. I do think, from the audience's perspective, it's a satisfying ending to the storyline."
