EastEnders fans horrified as Mick and Linda 'drown' in Titanic-esque scenes

EastEnders fans were left horrified this evening as Mick and Linda Carter appeared to drown in very 'Titanic-esque scenes.

The couple have been plagued with issues over Linda's drinking and even signed divorce papers to separate.

Just as Mick thought that he had had enough after a drunken Linda accused him of having an affair with Whitney, he heard her voicemail on his phone and decided to try and find her.

However tragedy struck as the boat began to sink - while Linda had her ankle trapped while she was in the boat's kitchen.

However the pair were unable to get her out as the freezing cold Thames water began to rise around them.

Linda screamed at Mick to leave (BBC)

Linda began panicking as the water continued to rise, screaming that she "didn't want to die".

Mick tried to calm her down before she insisted that he "had to go".

Mick passionately told her that he wouldn't leave her (BBC)

"You have to go. Think of Ollie," she told him. "Nancy, Shirley, Johnny... they all need you!"

However Mick passionately replied: "Do you think I'd ever leave you? I love you. If this boat goes down, I'm going down with it."

The water continued to rise... will Mick and Linda survive?
