EastEnders fans were emotional on Monday night, as Lola Pearce's health seemed to take a turn for the worse amid her brain tumour battle.
The character learned last year that she had a brain tumour and that it was inoperable, with doctors confirming she will die.
Just weeks ago, a flashfoward clip for the soap's Christmas Day episode appeared to reveal the character dies this year, and will pass away before Christmas.
Now, the latest episode showed her condition seemingly deteriorating as she suffered new symptoms, worrying her loved ones including young daughter Lexi.
Lola began zoning out as daughter Lexi spoke to her, with Lexi struggling to wake her from the trance-like state.
Her husband Jay Brown raced into the room to find Lexi pleading with her mum to wake up, gently shaking her in a bid to get her attention.
For a few seconds, while it's not known how long Lola had zoned out for, Lola was seen staring into space and not moving or blinking.
She was sat down and completely still, even as Lexi tried to wake her up with Jay also talking to her.
Suddenly, Lola's eyes flickered and she slowly came back to them, before looking around the room and asking her daughter about something they were not discussing.
Lola soon realised what had happened as Jay and Lexi shared their concern, before Lola told her daughter that the doctors had warned of unusual things happening to her.
She shared how she was told she may zone out from time to time, and while Jay encouraged her to get checked over at the hospital Lola refused.
Viewers were alarmed over the scenes, with many believing this was the beginning of Lola's health declining ahead of her tragic death.
Taking to Twitter, not ready for the scenes ahead, one viewer said: "Lexi seeing Lola Zoned out and thinking she is dead my heart is breaking."
Another fan tweeted about the scenes: "Poor Lola the end is coming nearer."
A third viewer wrote on Instagram : "Very sad to watch her go her body is shutting down."
Meanwhile, a fourth fan commented: "This breaks my heart," as a fifth posted: "This was so heart wrenching to watch."
