EastEnders fans fumed over a big blunder on the BBC One soap, as Linda Carter got her baby taken away.
Scheming Janine Butcher has been trying to ruin Linda's life and make sure she splits from Mick Carter for good. Janine tried to fit her up for a car crash, thinking she might die - but when she regained consciousness, police also quizzed her over the crash.
However, during today's episode, she was spared jail and could return home to the Square. Annoyed by the verdict, Janine set another plan in motion, determined to get her away from Mick for good.
She blackmailed Jada into helping her set Linda up, hiding bottles of alcohol at her place, and social services were contacted as she looked after baby Annie. Despite it being bank holiday, two people from social services arrived and decided to take Annie away.
The heartbreaking scenes saw Linda crying and screaming as she tried to run after the car, but fans were distracted as they pointed out a huge error in the storyline and took to Twitter to fume over what happened.
"Social services turning up within 10mins, on a bank holiday, searching a property AND taking a child out of harm’s way? Walford’s no Haringey, is it?! #EastEnders #makeitmakesense," one fan shared online.
A second added: "More #EastEnders social services b*******, it's also bank holiday Monday, so skeleton staff. You don't take the baby without the adult or without calling the police. You don't rock up and go tiny bruise "to the hospital" it's 2022 why are the BBC still getting this so wrong!," as a third wrote: "Wow, speed and behaviour; that's just pathetic and totally unrealistic!"
"Actually Social Services have no power to act as #EastEnders have just portrayed. They cannot remove a baby without a court Order or a police protection order. Infuriating to see this type of c*** on the telly. Get a lawyer to advise you," a fourth wrote.
A fifth penned: "See if social services really did act on just one phone call of concerns hundreds of children would still be alive instead mountains of evidence has to be provided and even then nothing happens #EastEnders," with a sixth adding: " #EastEnders could this storyline get any worse? We all know social services don't turn up that quickly and they certainly don't just take babies to the hospital because they have a bruise on their arm!"
"How the f*** on reality do #EastEnders expect us to believe that social services work on a bank holiday and come out within an hour? They'd have the police in case of trouble. What utter s****," another shared.
