EastEnders fans are all saying the same thing after noticing Jack's stern warning to Lily Slater.
The 12-year-old daughter of Stacey Slater got pregnant after a one night stand with her friend Ricky Jr. - who is the son of Jack Branning and Sam Mitchell - and after a number of ups and downs, she has been debating whether to keep the baby or go through with an abortion. Martin has been keen for her to have an abortion, but mum Stacey Slater has vowed to back her completely whatever she decides.
In new scenes tonight, as the news spreads of Lily's pregnancy, Jack issued a big warning to Lily about teenage pregnancy, which had fans tuning into the BBC soap all saying the same thing as they questioned his motives.
In scenes airing tonight, Jack spotted Lily staring at her phone, he went over to talk to her and quizzed why she wasn't in school.
"Shouldn't you be back at school now?," he asked as Lily looked up at him nervously before adding: "I'm not going back. Amy told Denzel who told Nugget, who told everyone. It's all over social media, no one's shutting up about it."
He asked to see the messages and after an initial moment of hesitancy, she handed over her phone. Looking at the group messages, where she was quizzed about her pregnancy, Jack was quick to insist it wasn't right - but warned her life would be different from now.
"This ain't right, you should probably get used to it. It seems to me a lot of people are sugar-coating things for you. It won't be easy, but you're telling me you're a grown up, that you're ready to be a mum. You can't let any of this bother you," he said.
"Teenage mums get a lot of stick and it gets even worse when the baby comes. It's not right, but it's reality. The world isn't set up that way. It's why teenage mums drop out of school. Getting a decent job becomes even more impossible."
He concluded: "When the baby comes, you find out who your real friends are."
As she asked what he meant, he quickly made a U-turn and said, "I probably shouldn't be telling you all this. Ask your mum," before he disappeared, leaving Lily even more terrified than before it seemed.
Fans rushed to Twitter to comment on the scenes, with one writing: "Jack is literally emotionally manipulating Lily! #EastEnders," as a second added: "Does he know how patronising that sounds? He really is bullying Lily here."
"this is literally stereotyping from jack though .. #Eastenders," a third shared.
A fourth penned: "jack was right about what he said to lily in a certain way but it also wasn’t his place and now she’s just going to be petrified and confused even more and that’s not how to do it. #Eastenders."
