EastEnders fans all say the same thing as Di Marco family reunite 25 years on from exit

EastEnders fans were delighted to see some of the soap's former stars reunite for a trip down memory lane recently.

The Di Marco family first appeared on our screens back in the 90s and consisted of mother Rosa (Louise Jameson) and her sons Beppe (Michael Greco) and Gianni, (Marc Bannerman), but all have since moved on from the BBC soap.

Younger sisters Teresa and Nicky, played by Leila Birth and Carly Hillman, also made up part of the popular soap family, alongside grandparents and grandsons - with Carly, now 38, navigating some hard-hitting storylines during her time on EastEnders.

By 2002, following a huge cull of the family two years before, all the Di Marcos had left Albert Square and haven't been seen on screen since.

However, EastEnders fans got a treat on Twitter over the weekend, as Beppe actor Greco shared a snap of himself and his former on-screen family reuniting over 20 years on from their soap stint.

Greco beamed as he enjoyed a meal alongside Hillman, Birch and Jameson in a restaurant, with only Gianni actor Bannerman missing from the cute reunion.

"Not seen this lot for 25 years! My EastEnders mum and sisters," Greco, now 52, captioned the snap on Twitter.

"Was incredible to catch up [with] them all and go down memory lane Di Marco family."

Fans went wild for the star-studded catch-up, with one tweeting: "Great to see the Di Marcos reunited! xxx."

"We want them back on the Square, @bbceastenders," another declared, as a third gushed: "Fine wine comes to mind."

Many replies called for the Di Marco family to make a sensational soap comeback.

"DI Marcos should come back to the Square. It’s never been the same," one Twitter user argued, with another agreeing as they tweeted: "Bring them back xx."

One fan couldn't believe how little the four actors have aged over the years, writing: "No one has aged!!! And you still beautiful."

Hillman, who played Beppe's little sister Carly, also shared some snaps on her own Twitter account.

She gushed: "Wonderful reunion with my TV family. Laughing, reminiscing and making new memories. Such a strong bond. So much love. Can’t wait to do it all again."

Throughout her two-year stint on the soap, Hillman, now 38, navigated some hard-hitting storylines - including the time Nicky's maths tutor Rod Morris sexually assaulted her after mum Rosa arranged some additional private lessons.

Nicky bid farewell to Albert Square in 2000, opting to go and live in a youth hostel following her family's refusal to believe she had been attacked by her teacher.

Two decades on from her character's on-screen departure, Carly is still working in the entertainment industry - but not as an actress.

According to her professional website, Carly has been "performing as a vocalist at weddings, birthday parties, private parties, christenings, restaurants, bars, corporate events, Christmas parties and holiday parks all over the south east of England, for the past five years".

Carly currently performs across Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, London and Kent and range "includes R&B, Soul, Pop, Disco, Rock and Ballads".
