Recently, Lola actress Danielle Harold took to social media to thank fans for their support as she filmed some of her final scenes on the show.

She and her co-star Jamie Borthwick, who plays Lola's husband Jay Brown, were snapped at the seaside.

Lola is in a wheelchair in the scenes, with spoilers confirming that her heath will deteriorate in the coming weeks ahead of her death.

With both characters keen to make memories for her young daughter Lexi, Lola has begun getting things in order - including recently asking Jay to adopt her and Ben Mitchell's daughter.

But it seems time has run out for the character whose condition has worsened on screen, with new images showing a hearse carrying Lola's coffin being driven to Walford.

Lola's white coffin has messages written on it from various Albert Square residents, including Kat Slater, Bobby Beale and Karen Taylor.

Her white coffin has engraved hearts on the side, and is surrounded by pink and white flowers including one arrangement that spells out 'Lola'.

There is a second arrangement on the opposite side that possibly spells out the same name or something linked to daughter Lexi, but it isn't in view.

A series of funeral cars follow the hearse, while no cast members were snapped in any of the images.

Snaps from location recently saw Lola at the beach with Jay, while it was thought Lexi may appear in some of the scenes too.

It's thought these are some of her final scenes on the soap, while it's not been confirmed when her final episode will air.

Given the new filming snaps, it's been confirmed she does die soon and that viewers have just weeks left of Lola onscreen.

It's thought filming often takes place around five to six weeks prior to transmission, so Lola's death may air In June or July.

Taking to Instagram last month, actress Danielle spoke of the "difficult" but important storyline, as she thanked viewers.

Danielle said: "Lola’s story has been a very hard one to tell and one that means so much to me and sadly effects so many people.
