EastEnders will air some dramatic scenes this Christmas - as Shirley exposes Janine and Mick spends his last day in Walford.
Danny Dyer's exit was revealed by The Mirror earlier this year, leaving fans of the BBC soap stunned, and as Danny opened up about the exit, he promised it would happen with some huge scenes this festive season. A new trailer has now dropped which teases Mick Carter may finally meet his end during some very dramatic episodes this Christmas.
Meanwhile, Shirley is getting increasingly suspicious of Janine - and how she might be involved in Linda's car crash.
In the new clip, all seems well for Janine Butcher and Mick Carter as they prepare to tie the knot - but as Janine looks away, Mick looks towards his ex Linda Carter, seemingly hinting he's not sure if he's making the right decision.
Around the dinner table at Christmas, Janine looks concerned as Shirley sets her sights on exposing evil Janine for who she is. "Course she did it. Look at her face," Shirley says as Janine looks on concerned.
Mick is clearly fuming, as he snarls at everyone around the table, including his ex Linda, mum Shirley and partner Janine: "We just wanted a final Christmas in the Vic with my family. All my family."
The next shot sees him standing on a clifftop in the dead of night as he hears screaming. A strapline across the screen reads: "Mick Carter's last Christmas." Whatever happens to Mick, it will definitely be his last day in Walford...
It comes after EastEnders star Charlie Brooks dropped a huge hint over Mick Carter and Janine Butcher's dramatic exit storyline.
Asked if she wants Janine to end up with her man, she added: "Yes, I want to see them run off into the sunset together, but I think the audience might hate me if they do! I like the idea that Janine brings out a different side in Mick, sometimes a little bit of a darker side, because he has been walked over by Linda. At the end of the day, Linda did have an affair and have somebody else's baby and is an alcoholic, so Janine has no sympathy for that whatsoever. She sees Mick as a little bit weak for putting up with all that.
"Janine's like, 'Come over here and misbehave with me!' and lots of men like a crazy person. Janine is one of those chaotic, crazy, slightly infectious, both in a good and bad way, people. And I've loved playing that part of their relationship as well."
Kellie Bright, meanwhile, previously revealed to The Mirror that Danny's exit storyline would be "explosive".
Asked how she would describe the Christmas episodes, she replied: "Explosive. I actually think the Christmas episodes are really strong, we've got a fantastic team. I really do think they've pulled out all the stops and obviously for me - personally - it's Danny's exit from the show and I want to make it brilliant for that, because of him."
