EastEnders star Charlie Brooks has dropped a huge hint over Mick Carter and Janine Butcher's dramatic exit storyline.
Both Charlie and her co-star Danny Dyer - who play Mick and Janine - are bowing out of the soap in coming scenes, but just how that may happen has yet to be revealed. There have been rumours of death, devastation and much more for the pair in the wake of their exits but just how it'll all play out has yet to be revealed.
Charlie, though, has revealed a little more about how it all plays out - amid fears Mick could die.
Discussing Janine's motive ahead of the wedding, she said: "Janine is feeling anxious, nervous, and excited – she wants to get it done. I think she's terrified he's going to fall back in love with Linda, so the desperation to do it is in full force.
"Ultimately, she wants to get them away from Linda now. She wants to get Linda out of the pub or get a new pub, so she separates them so they can start a new life. It's all about her new life and her new family, and she's finding great comfort in that."
Charlie also teased the pair may not "run off into the sunset together".
Asked if she wants Janine to end up with her man, she added: "Yes, I want to see them run off into the sunset together, but I think the audience might hate me if they do! I like the idea that Janine brings out a different side in Mick, sometimes a little bit of a darker side, because he has been walked over by Linda. At the end of the day, Linda did have an affair and have somebody else's baby and is an alcoholic, so Janine has no sympathy for that whatsoever. She sees Mick as a little bit weak for putting up with all that.
"Janine's like, 'Come over here and misbehave with me!' and lots of men like a crazy person. Janine is one of those chaotic, crazy, slightly infectious, both in a good and bad way, people. And I've loved playing that part of their relationship as well."
Kellie Bright previously revealed to The Mirror that Danny's exit storyline would be "explosive".
Asked how she would describe the Christmas episodes, she replied: "Explosive. I actually think the Christmas episodes are really strong, we've got a fantastic team. I really do think they've pulled out all the stops and obviously for me - personally - it's Danny's exit from the show and I want to make it brilliant for that, because of him.
"So I feel like everyone involved in it has pulled out all the stops, poured their heart and soul into it. I think it's got a bit of everything. Obviously we're not the only ones in those episodes so I think it does what you want a Christmas episode of EastEnders to do. It's got kind of everything in there and then going through the week as well... I actually really love Boxing Day as an episode as well."
