EastEnders’ Brian Conley gets 'called every name under the sun' by potty-mouth cast extra

EastEnders star Brian Conley revealed an adorable cast extra has to be removed from the set for swearing.

Brian, who plays Tom 'Rocky' Cotton, explained how he's been having issues with his character's potty-mouthed parrot Jasper.

The parrot spends so much time swearing that the crew has to remove the bird from scenes sometimes.

"It’s been well documented that it does swear a lot," Brian, 61, explained.

"Just between us, we brought this parrot on and I said to the director, 'Is it going to make a lot of noise?'

"And then the trainer lady came on and she said 'No, because it’s a new environment it’s going to be very quiet.'"

The parrot has hilariously called Brian "every name under the sun", with the actor joking to OK! that the parrot "gets on his nerves".

In the last few weeks, Rocky has been dealing with a lot of drama as his ex-wife Jo (played by Vicki Michelle) returned to town.

Rocky's past caught up with him as fiancée Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) went ahead with their wedding plans unaware that he got married to Jo 25 years before and never got a divorce.

At the end of March, she spoke about her return to the show and said to Lorraine Kelly: "She's strong, she's feisty, I think she's there to stir things up."

The ITV presenter asked about Vicki's long-term future on the BBC soap to which she admitted she "hoped" she returned.

Speaking about her on-screen husband Rocky: "He's in big trouble so there's going to be fireworks and [Gillian's Kathy] is going to get married to him."

"I'm loving it and it would be lovely if they extended the character," she confessed.

"Sometimes that happens you're only in it for a short period of time but you make such an impact that people want you back there and Vicki there's huge affection for you," Lorraine added,

When it was announced Vicki was joining the soap, she said: “I’m so excited to be in EastEnders and everyone has been so lovely. Jo Cotton is a great character and it is such a great story. I can’t wait for the audience to meet her.”

Meanwhile, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) will be making a surprise return to Walford after reuniting with his first wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
