EastEnders has aired an emotional return ahead of Lola Pearce's sad death.
Lola - played by Danielle Harold - has been told the treatment to try and remove her brain tumour has not worked and doctors have decided to suspend any treatment going forward. With the end of her life near, Lola has been desperate to try and do as much as she can in as many days as she has left in a bid to live the remainder of her life to the fullest.
Jay is adamant to make Lola's last days special, as is the rest of the family and today they organised a very special Ladies' Day for Lola, as she was too ill to be able to make it to the actual races herself.
Surrounded by her family and friends, they watched horse racing on the TV whilst everyone dressed in their best racecourse outfits, with Lola, even sporting an orange fascinator so she felt like she was part of the action too.
Rocky was there to provide commentary, with Lola getting a chance to 'bet' on the different horses - with him having a trick up his sleeve with the help of a soap legend and one of his very good friends.
As one of the races ended, Lola realised how she was winning every bet - Patrick was on a video call telling Rocky who had won in the old race, which they were watching as if it was 'live', in order to give Lola the best chance of winning.
Rocky then handed over the phone to Lola, with Patrick speaking to her via video call as he confessed to their plan.
"I wish you were here Patrick," Lola said as she chatted to him via FaceTime, as he replied: "So do I. This should be somebody else, someone more my age, and not you." Lola then called Lexi over to say hi to Patrick, as the two chatted with him about life.
Patrick departed the soap back in March 2023, when he decided to follow his heart and go and see his ex Yolande. She was last seen on screens back in 2008 when she decided to head away for a new life in Birmingham.
