EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt warns fans of cash-stealing Instagram fraudsters

EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt has warned fans that a con artist was claiming to be his assistant to steal cash.

The actor, 54, was horrified to discover that fraudsters were pretending to raise money for a charity football match.

Adam, who played Ian Beale in the soap, took to his socials and said: "This person is claiming to be my assistant. They are NOT. I do not have an assistant.

“Please ignore any messages from them relating to me."

He shared a screengrab of 'Cindy's' profile, revealing their bio which reads: "I love my family don't Dm me, love nature and photography, assistant to @Adamwoodyatt.

“Happily married mom, I don't accept followers."

"How some of these people think they can get away with this kinda stuff, is actually unbelievable!" one raged.

One follower said that the fraudster told them that Adam was raising money for a child with cancer.

After Adam raised the alarm, one fan noticed that they had removed his name from their bio.

Speaking to The Sun, Adam said: "I went into hospital with a stomach issue and they pointed out my liver was probably taking a bit of a hammering."

He said how he was told to give his liver a break for six weeks, but after Covid he explained that he ended up avoiding alcohol for twice as long.

"And I thought, 'Do you know what — I’ve cracked this, I don’t miss it, I’m better off without it'," he said.
