EastEnders has changed a fair bit over the years, including the faces - but not just in terms of new characters arriving.
Many of the soap's well known characters have been recast since 2012, including Ben Mitchell, Dotty Cotton and Peter Beale.
The soap is currently airing trauma and loss, as well as the usual romance and fun.
Shirley Carter recently buried a loved one following a brutal murder at the hands of a secret killer in Walford.
Back in April 2012, it's fair to say a similar situation was unfolding as the Mitchells covered up the murder of Shirley's best friend Heather Trott.
Heather was accidentally killed by Ben with Jay Brown with him at the time, but Phil encouraged them to leave the body and lie to the police about what happened.
Shirley spent most of April and beyond desperate to know the truth, investigating Heather's death - while she would eventually work it all out, with Ben sent to prison.
Elsewhere, Alfie Moon and Bianca Jackson got themselves caught up in Derek Branning's dodgy dealings.
Alfie was tasked with carrying out jobs for the local gangster, and when he refused he was threatened.
When he went missing while completing a job, Roxy Mitchell was left panicked.
Bianca struggled to keep things together when she was fined by the electricity board for one of Derek's scams, resulting in a showdown with mum Carol amid her struggling financially.
Things reached breaking point, leading to Bianca having a showdown with Derek over his antics - with Bianca soon deciding she needed some time away from Walford.
Michael Moon meanwhile was far from interested in his wedding plans to Janine Butcher - especially when she demanded he sign a prenup.
Long-viewing fans of the show will know that Michael, the father of Janine's daughter Scarlett, ended up dying at the hands of his villainous partner a year later.
