East Midlands Railway services cancelled across Nottinghamshire due to strike action

East Midlands Railway (EMR) services will not be running due to strike action. EMR will not have services running on Wednesday (October 5) due to strike action by members from the RMT, TSSA, ASLEF and Unite unions.

ASLEF represents train drivers, and so no trains will be operating on that day. Disruption to services is expected to take place until the weekend - as from Thursday (October 6) until Saturday (October 8) there will be no trains running east out of Nottingham.

This will affect regional customers wanting to travel from Nottingham to other parts of the county and Lincolnshire. On some routes from Nottingham, all trains will terminate by 6.30pm and no further services will run, so customers are advised to check the time of their last train return before travelling.

From Thursday until Saturday, there will also be one train per hour between Nottingham and Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester as well as Nottingham and London between 7.30am and 6.30pm. Rail users are also being advised to check the EMR website for more information about stations, services and the latest advice and information.

Will Rogers, managing director at EMR, said: "As a result of strike action being taken by multiple unions across the country, we will be operating a significantly reduced service on strike days. In addition, we will unfortunately not be able to operate any trains on Wednesday (October 5), and from Thursday up to and including Saturday, we cannot operate any regional services east out of Nottingham.

"We have worked hard to provide as many services as safely possible but it is a complicated situation with our timetables being impacted differently depending on which union is on strike. That is why we are advising customers to plan ahead and only travel by rail if absolutely necessary on strike days.

"Customers are also strongly advised to check when the time of their last train is before setting off. More detailed advice, including daily travel information, is available on our website."
