East Midlands Railway issue ticket update as Nottingham Forest supporters queue at station

East Midlands Railway has issued an update after hundreds of Nottingham Forest fans were seen queuing at Nottingham station this morning. It comes after Nottingham Forest play Huddersfield Town in today's play off match at Wembley.

The railway company has urged fans from Nottingham to pick alternative stations to travel from. They say supporters can get trains from Derby, Chesterfield or East Midlands Parkway instead.

All tickets will remain valid if you travel through a different station or railway provider. There is currently a queuing system in place at Nottingham station but travellers are warned to expect long delays.

Train tickets can also be used at anytime today. Forest supporters also have the option to travel to Grantham or Newark to get on the East Coast Main Line train services to London.

East Midlands Railway tweeted: "Please be considerate to our teams whilst travelling today, they are working hard to get you to London safely."

On their Twitter page they also said there have been reports of passengers being left behind at Beeston station due to the high volume of people already on the trains.
