East Midlands Railway confirms delays to Nottingham train services after person hit by train

Disruptions have been reported at Nottingham Railway Station after a person was hit by a train. East Midlands Railway (EMR) confirmed that emergency services are on their way to the incident, which took place between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street.

The incident means that services have been disrupted at EMR Nottingham routes, as well trains in Liverpool and Norwich. EMR are awaiting an estimated time for emergency services arrival at the scene.

EMR are also unaware of when the line will reopen at this time. The train service has told passengers to continue their journeys as planned, but that delays of around 60 minutes should be expected.

A Twitter update from EMR read: "We are sad to report a person has been hit by a train between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street. This is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool / Nottingham / Norwich routes.

"More information to follow."
