East Midlands Airport bound Ryanair flight diverted to France after passenger fell ill

An East Midlands Airport bound Ryanair flight had to land in France after a passenger fell ill. The medical emergency, which affected the budget airline's flight from Reus, Spain to East Midlands Airport in Castle Donington, occurred on Wednesday, May 24.

After one of the passengers became ill the flight had to make a 45 minute diversion to Bordeaux, France. The passenger involved was then taken off the plane and was treated by medics at the airport.

The aircraft departed for East Midlands Airport after a short delay. A Ryanair spokesperson said: "This flight from Reus to East Midlands (May 24) diverted to Bordeaux after a passenger became ill on board.

"The aircraft landed normally, and the passenger disembarked and was met by medics for further treatment. The aircraft departed for East Midlands a short time later."
