With Halloween just around the corner it is rather fitting that a Dunbar beach walker came across a rather spooky looking skeleton.
The intriguing find is thankfully not linked to any monster from the upside down world but has had locals in Dunbar puzzled nonetheless.
Milly McGinty made the discovery during one of her ‘Wednesday wander’ walks at Seacliff beach on Wednesday, October 26.

She says that she is relatively new to the area and so goes for a walk to nice spots in order to have lunch and discover what the local environment has to offer.
The skeleton has a long saw-like tail that runs behind a bulky skeletal body topped by a bulbous head.
Milly, who shared the discovery on a local community Facebook group for Dunbar residents, said that initially locals had thought the remains had belonged to a horseshoe crab that are common in the area.
But after speaking to a local fisherman - someone you would presume to know their fish bones - they were convinced that it was the skeleton of a common or garden skate.
Milly said: “We had been initially advised that it is a horseshoe crab but a local fisherman thought that it could be a common or garden skate.
“We are relatively new to the area so go for lunch somewhere and a ‘Wednesday wander’ to find places we have never been to before. We found it on Seacliff beach which is a stunning place.”
