East Lothian police seize cash and drugs worth £28,000 after Musselburgh raid

Police have seized almost £30,000 worth of cash and drugs during a bust at a home in East Lothian as part of a wider operation.

Officers raided the property in the Eskview Road area of Musselburgh on January 13 in the latest phase of Operation Juneau.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with offences to the supply of drugs after a quantity of class A and B substances were found at his home.

Officers also retrieved around £22,000 in cash from the property alongside the illegal items with a value of around £6,000.

A second man, aged 35, was reported to the procurator fiscal following another raid on a home in Tranent as part of the same investigation after a quantity of class B drugs was recovered.

East Lothian community inspector Stuart Fletcher said “Stopping drugs supply into our community in East Lothian is a high priority for Police Scotland.

“This work would not have been possible without the help of residents from East Lothian reporting activity in their areas which allows us to act.”
