East Lothian has been ranked as the second worst coronavirus hotspot in Scotland as cases remain high.
Earlier this week, Nicola Sturgeon announced that a number of restrictions would ease from January 24 as she stated the country has “turned a corner” against the virus.

With cases appearing to lower across Scotland due to vaccinations and restrictions during the festive period, there are some areas that are still showing high rates of transmission.
According to the Daily Record, only five areas in Scotland are out of the highest transmission rate, with East Lothian displaying the worst rates throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Currently, Clackmannanshire are showing a test positivity rate of 703.8 cases per 100,000 of population.
However, East Lothian are close behind with a rate of 688.6 cases per 100,000, with 743 cases between January 9-15.
Midlothian is currently sitting with the eight highest rates of 625.9 cases per 100,000, with 584 new cases reported between January 9-15.
The City of Edinburgh was ninth with a rate of 617.5 cases per 100,000, and 3,258 cases in the same time period.
