A young thug slashed a man after a row over a bush.
Vinnie Froude attacked Josef Geoola at Fisherrow Beach in Musselburgh, East Lothian on July 16 2022. The victim and a friend had been walking a dog on the promenade when they spotted the 23 year-old and his friends.
Prosecutor Eilidh Robertson told the High Court in Glasgow: "As they approached, they observed a female from the direction of the beach pulling branches off a bush."

Annoyed at what was happening, one of them shouted towards the group. Miss Robertson said there was a verbal exchange which "escalated".
Mr Geoola went on to film the encounter - part of it being played during the hearing. He stated at one stage: "You thought it was dead. Are you in f*****g elementary school. You thought it was dead? You f*****g tore off a f*****g living bush."
Froude eventually got involved. The attack was not shown in court, but Miss Robertson said Mr Geoola - who trained in martial arts - initially had Froude on the ground after a confrontation.
After it broke up, Froude then went on to slash the victim across the neck with a piece of glass. The court heard the threat to the victim's life from the attack was "potential" rather than actual.
Froude pled guilty to assaulting Mr Geoola. It emerged he already had a number of convictions for violence.
Lord Fairley stated: "There appears to be a pattern of escalation. If this follows the trajectory that it appears to be following, that is not a good thing."
The judge deferred sentencing for reports and further background on Froude. He was remanded in custody and will return to the dock on June 27 in Edinburgh.
