East Lothian drug dealer caught keeping stash worth thousands under his sofa

An East Lothian drug dealer who hid his stash under the couch was caught by police with £12,000 of cocaine.

Terrence Grieve was arrested after officers swooped on his home in Musselburgh following a tip-off about his actions.

The 59-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday and admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug.

Fiscal depute Susan Dickson said police had received information that Grieve was involved in drug dealing.

Ms Dickson said officers watched Grieve leave his home and go to his car, reports the Record.

Ms Dickson said the accused’s home was searched and £1075 in cash, a set of digital scales, and various drug stashes were recovered.

These included 39 packets of cocaine worth concealed beneath the living room sofa and valued at £4350.
