An East Lothian driver was caught out by police this week after an unsuspecting error meant their entire MOT wasn't valid.
Issuing a warning on social media this week, road police shared that the motorist had been pulled over near Dunbar on Monday, where officers carried out a series of checks.
With conditions becoming icy and dipping below freezing, officers had checked the car tyres, all four of which were found to have their cords exposed.

Sharing images of the wheels, police explained that the issue prohibited the vehicle from moving, therefore making its MOT invalid.
Speaking in a tweet, police said: "Be safe this winter. The sights we see and it is too early for Santa. All four tyres with cord exposed #DunbarRP prohibited this vehicle from moving which invalidates the MOT too.

"If you have a blow out of a tyre there is a serious risk of a collision."
It comes as officers in the area also shared they had attended a two-car collision nearby on the same evening, where one of the drivers was found to be five times over the alcohol limit.
A tweet added: "Driving under the influence of alcohol is bad enough but with the weather the last few days is nearly unthinkable. #DunbarRP dealt with a 2 car collision when one driver was near 5 times over over the limit."
