An East Lothian couple suffered a serious assault at the weekend after they were attacked on a quiet residential street.
The 61-year-old man and a 62-year old woman were injured on Saturday evening after being targeted in Musselburgh, with the woman rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police Scotland have appealed for anyone with information regarding the assault to contact them on 101 after the couple were assaulted on Stoneybank Terrace.
Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident, which is said to have taken place at around 9.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report on Sunday, 14 August, in relation to a serious assault that happened in the Stoneybank Terrace area of Musselburgh.
“The incident happened around 9.30pm on Saturday, 13 August, when a 61-year-old man and a 62-year old woman were injured. The woman went to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information that can assist our investigation is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3094 of Sunday, 14 August, 2022.”
