One in four registered voters in East Lothian applied for a postal ballot ahead of tomorrow council election.
The county, which has large rural areas surrounding its main towns, has 88,073 residents who are registered to vote and says more than 22,000 requested a postal slip.
Around 72% of postal papers have been returned ahead of tomorrow's deadline and the council has reminded people that they are able to vote at the polling station with the postal ballot paper if they have not returned it tomorrow.
A ballot box for postal votes to be hand delivered will also be available at council headquarters John Muir House tomorrow as well.
