East Lothian police swoop on neighbourhood in huge 'pre-planned operation'

A huge emergency response has been seen in East Lothian on Friday, with police vehicles spotted at a bowling club.

Local residents in West Barns watched as the series of vehicles and fire appliances arrived at the scene on Edinburgh Road.

Images from the scene have shown police parked in the area for a number of hours, with Police Scotland confirming the presence is part of a "pre-planned operation."

A selection of police vans, a fire engine and ambulance could be seen outside the building, with officers adding that the operation poses "no risk to the wider community."
