East Kilbride club doctor Sam Millar has thanked everyone at the club and the wider community for their support after suffering a heart scare just before Christmas.
Dr Millar was admitted into Hairmyres after suffering a heart attack on December 27 and underwent successful surgery before being released.
But 'The Doc' says he's back to full health and will be fully back on his feet after receiving a hip transplant.
Millar, who is long-established at K-Park, said in a statement earlier today: "Just after Christmas, I had the dubious privilege of being admitted to my own hospital after suffering from a heart attack.
"My thanks go to my professional colleagues in AE, Coronary Care, Cardiac Rehabilitation and the staff in the Murray Surgery.
"The care and consideration shown by coaches, playing staff, committee and, indeed, the wider football family were vital during my rehabilitation programme and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation.
"Special thanks must go to Ian Aitchison and my 'chauffeur' Paul who helped ensure my continuing day to day attendance at the club during the week and on match days. I know how much these guys were keeping an eye on me and this is a debt I can never repay.
"I am delighted to say that I am back to full health heart-wise, and am now waiting a hip replacement (hence the stick!)).
"Many thanks to all at the club, and for all the kind messages received across the football and wider community."
