An early morning blaze at a Lanarkshire restaurant has forced the premises to close this week.
The fire broke out within the kitchen and bar area of GC Bar and Bistro in Hamilton town centre.
Fire crews raced to the scene shortly after 5am on Sunday, June 12, and doused the inferno before it was able to spread further.
Nobody was injured from the incident at the restaurant on Auchingramont Road.
However, it's understood the business will remain closed for the foreseeable future while staff work to repair the damage.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told Lanarkshire Live : “We were alerted at 5.18am on Sunday, June 12 to reports of a fire affecting restaurant premises in Auchingramont Road, Hamilton.
“Operations control immediately mobilised two fire appliances to the location and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
GC Bar and Bistro told customers yesterday: "The restaurant will be closed until the foreseeable. A fire broke out in our kitchen and bar area.
"We will keep everyone updated on social media."
In an update today, they thanked local firefighters for their help at the time of the incident and confirmed there were no injuries.
They said: "Yesterday was a crazy day for everyone at the GC.
"We would like to thank everyone for their kind messages, your support has been overwhelming. Thankfully no one was hurt.
"We would like to give a massive thank you to the Bothwell Fire & Rescue Team for their quick response, and keeping the fire contained from spreading further.
"We hope to see you all back soon after we re-build."
