Eamonn Holmes supported as he issues statement after 'unexpected' hospital treatment

Eamonn Holmes has been flooded with support as he issued a statement on his health. Fans of the TV presenter may have noticed that he has been absent from his hosting role on GB News - and now Eamonn has addressed his absence.

In a message to fans, Eamonn has explained that he has been forced to take a break from his GB News breakfast show co-presenter Isabel Webster to undergo "unexpected" hospital treatment.

The former This Morning star took to Instagram and Twitter on Monday evening (June 6), sharing a statement about his health. "Hi everyone, Many of you have been asking why I haven’t been presenting GB News for the past week," the message began.

"Unfortunately, due to a reoccurence [sic] of a long-term back condition, I’ve had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following Doctor’s orders by taking a short time off. However, I’m looking forward to being back alongside Isabel, my Breakfast co-presenter and friend, next week.

"Even though I only joined GB News six months ago the whole team and our amazing audience have shown me immense support which has been greatly appreciated. I now just need some time with my family to heal and recuperate. See you soon, Eamonn."

He captioned the picture of his statement: "Just to let you know…" before his celebrity pals started sending him their well wishes. His co-host Isabel said: "You are being missed. We cannot wait to have you back very soon." Emma Willis wrote: "Hope you start to feel better Eamonn. Sending you love."

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins commented: "Hope all OK, get well soon." This Morning regular and broadcaster Vanessa Feltz replied: "So sorry to hear it. Wishing you a speedy recovery." TV chef Lisa Faulkner wrote: "Lots of love to you hope you feel better soon," while her parter and MasterChef judge John Torode shared: "Get well soon .. hope it’s all not too painful."

And fans were also quick to send a message. @juliastrachan_ commented: "Praying you get better soon lovely Eamonn." @irishdreamms said: "Hope you feel better soon. Your health and well being is the most important thing."

@crkinley01 wrote: "Hope that the treatment does the trick and helps your back pain. Take care and look after yourself." @kathrynwebs shared: "Wondered where you’d gone! Get well soon Mr H!" @hvaughanjones added: "Sending lots of love to you, Mr H. Breakfast telly just ain’t breakfast telly without you."

It comes just a couple of weeks after Eamonn horrified fans with a picture as he tried some alternative treatment. The 62-year-old first spoke about his chronic pain battle last year before he later discovered following an MRI scan that his pain began when he "mysteriously" dislocated his pelvis.

Eamonn has since been undergoing physio and he has admitted he has "been using a walking stick or crutch every day". And last month, during a session of cupping, Eamonn got a pic of just what it looks like with wife Ruth Langsford calling him her 'Ninja Turtle'.
