Eamonn Holmes has revealed he's suffered a frustrating setback in his bid to banish his chronic pain after suffering a fall during recovery from surgery. The former This Morning host underwent an operation at the end of September in the hopes of it relieving his chronic pain.
It wasn't until after speaking about his health issues last year that Eamonn later discovered following an MRI scan that his pain began when he "mysteriously" dislocated his pelvis. Despite undergoing physio, the GB News star was left using a walking aide or crutches.
But he took more serious action to battle his suffering in September and on the day before his planned operation, Eamonn explained what the operation will entail and revealed that the surgery came with a "20 percent risk of going wrong." He added: "but such is the pain and restrictions that I have been suffering for the past 18 months, I’ve decided it is a risk I am willing to take."

A week later, at the start of October, Eamonn appeared back on GB News live from his Surrey home he shares with wife Ruth Langsford and offered an update to viewers and his GB News Breakfast co-host Isabel Webster. "I’m one week on, it is early days. It will probably be about three weeks before they know whether it has been a success or not," he said.
However, it has since been confirmed that the 62-year-old suffered a fall during his recovery and had to undergo a second surgery after the accident left him with a fractured shoulder. Eamonn is now receiving rehabilitative treatment for his injuries, and doctors have ordered him to rest for at least eight weeks.
A representative for Eamonn told Express.co.uk: "As a consequence of being laid low by major surgery, Eamonn suffered a fall at home a couple of weeks ago and had to undergo another operation. He’s naturally gutted by the setback, but the good news is the surgery on his shoulder went well. He’s now receiving fantastic care and rest.
"Sadly it means Eamonn is likely to need a longer period off TV than he first thought in order to get himself better and heal. But despite being in an awful lot of pain, he’s remaining positive and is looking forward to doing what he loves most and being back on TV and presenting on GB News just as soon as he can.”
The spokesman added: “Eamonn would like to say thank you for the wonderful care he has received from the NHS. He’d also like to thank everyone who has sent him get-well messages. Eamonn’s focus now is solely on resting, and getting better - which he is determined to do."
Over the weekend, Eamonn received support from his followers when he tweeted: "An extra hour in bed? Have it back if it just means an extra hour of Pain. Long night for many of us . #ChronicPain." @fredmcc replied: "Awk Eamonn I was hoping the operation would've helped you somehow. As they say at home 'I'll light a wee candle for you'. Take care."
@nmcglen wrote: "So sorry you’re still in pain Eamonn. Pain during the night always seems worse somehow." @AudreyLove3 added: "Sorry you are still suffering so much, even after surgery. It was a long road for me but finally got the pain under control after steroid injections. Don’t give up hope. God bless."
