Eamonn Holmes showered with support as he says life has changed 'beyond recognition for me in a bad way'

Eamonn Holmes has been supported by his social media followers after sharing a poignant photograph on Instagram. The former ITV This Morning presenter and breakfast anchor for GB News posted a snap with his late mum and some of his brothers on the platform.

He captioned the photograph: "A couple of my brothers, me and Mum a year ago. Life ended for her and changed beyond recognition for me in a bad way."

Eamonn, who is married to Loose Women host Ruth Langsford, then urged his fans to live life to the full, telling them: "None of us know what's around the corner. Live life well."

Eamonn announced the heartbreaking news that his beloved mother had died last November. However, according to Manchester Evening News, he was unable to travel back to Northern Ireland to attend the funeral and had to watch on a live stream from his home in Surrey after he suffered a terrible fall, fracturing his shoulder.

The fall came not long after Eamonn underwent back surgery in a bid to help ease the chronic pain he had been suffering for years. Eamonn has been open about the health battles he's faced which have included a dislocated pelvis and three slipped discs.

Following the post, Eamonn was flooded with support as one fan wrote: "Beautiful photo and great memories for you all. Life is so precious, from experience you never know what can happen in a split second and change everything."

While American journalist Kinsey Schofield, who joined Eamonn during coverage of the Queen's death last year, added: There are miracles around every corner. I hope things look up for you, friend. You are loved!"

And a third said: "Sending lots of love. I lost my dad 3 years ago next month. Time does heal. You learn to live without them, physically. But spiritually they’re still here." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
