Eamonn Holmes has spoken of how his life has changed "beyond recognition" following the loss of his mother. The Belfast-born GB News host posted a touching tribute to his mother, who Eamonn announced had passed away back in November in an Instagram post.
The heartbreaking warming message shared the "only consolation" he and his four brothers can find in losing their mother. "My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon," Eamonn typed alongside the image, posted to his hundreds of thousands of followers, Manchester Evening News reports.
"She's at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation.
"We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye."
He ended the heartbreaking post with a tear-jerking farewell: "Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy x."
The 62-year-old was then later unable to make the trip back to Northern Ireland to attend the funeral, and had to watch it via a stream at home in Surrey with wife and TV host Ruth Langsford after suffering a nasty fall in which he fractured his shoulder shortly after undergoing back surgery to help reduce the chronic pain he has felt for years.
In his most recent tribute post to his mum, Eamonn wrote: "A couple of my bothers, me and Mum a year ago. Life ended for her and changed beyond recognition for me in a bad way."
He then added: "None of us know what's around the corner. Live life well."

The former This Morning star was quickly flooded with supportive messages including from American journalist Kinsey Schofield, who joined Eamonn during coverage of the Queen's death last year, who said: "There are miracles around every corner. I hope things look up for you, friend. You are loved!"
It comes after Eamonn paid tribute to his late mum on his first Mother's Day without her. "This is my first year without a Mother on Mother’s Day," he emotionally typed. But I did an interview last year where I said how much I loved her.
"How glad I am I did. If you still have a Mum . Give her a hug from me and don’t forget her tomorrow."
