Eamonn Holmes 'praying' as he undergoes 'risky' surgery

Eamonn Holmes has admitted her is "praying to God" ahead of "risky" surgery on Wednesday.

The 62-year-old will undergo a vital operation which he hopes will relieve him of the chronic pain he is suffering. He told the Express he is in "horrible" pain at times.

He said: "It’s an operation that carries a 20% of going wrong, but such is the pain and restrictions that I have been suffering for the past 18 months, I’ve decided it is a risk I am willing to take."

Eamonn expressed his gratitude, adding: "However horrible the pain is at times, there are lots of other people out there who have it far worse than I do. I know this because they write to me every day on social media and tell me how they are getting on or, in a lot of cases, how much they are suffering."

The TV presenter sparked concern among his fans last week when he posted a tweet during the early hours of the morning. He said: "Hello all my #ChronicPain sufferers... I know it not much help but it does help a little i feel to know we are not alone. Therefore from time to time I make these posts so some of you can share stories and just talk to someone who knows what u r going through." [sic]

Eamonn is hoping the operation will give his him "life back".
