Eamonn Holmes 'on track' for imminent return to TV presenting duties

Eamonn Holmes has announced he's "on track" for an imminent return to his TV presenting duties.

The Belfast born presenter was forced to take a break from presenting GB News' breakfast show back in September while undergoing back surgery in a bid to deal with his chronic pain.

Over the last few months, it has also been reported that the 63-year-old had a number of setbacks in his recovery, including a fall at his Surrey home which left him with a broken shoulder.

In a post on social media on New Year's Eve, Holmes revealed he will be making a return to his GB News breakfast show slot from January 9.

He said: "Visited my GB News studio today to see if they could handle my mobility issues and me to see if they had any.

"All went well thankfully so the early bird comeback is on track for Monday 9th January. I'm not better but better than I was and hopefully work will help with healing.”

Earlier that day, the presenter had wished his one million followers a “happy new year”, after reflecting on how the “dismal” weather in London summed up his year.

Eamonn has been candid with his health struggles in recent years, and previously described his "hellish ten months" he had with chronic pain following three slipped discs.
