Eamonn Holmes issues statement after being rushed to hospital for 'unexpected' treatment

Eamonn Holmes has issued a statement over his health after being rushed to hospital. The TV star, who has been suffering with chronic pain "for years", announced he was taking a short break under doctors' orders.

As reported by Birmingham Live, the 62-year-old GB News presenter temporarily stepped down from his role on the show after suffering the health setback. And he issued the following statement on Twitter to share the news.

"Hi everyone. Many of you have been asking why I haven't been presenting GB News for the past week," he said.

"Unfortunately due to a reoccurrence of a long-term back condition, I've had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following doctors' orders by taking a short time off."

He continued: "However I'm looking forward to being back alongside Isabel, my Breakfast co-presenter and friend, next week. Even though I only joined GB News six months ago the whole team and our amazing audience have shown me immense support which has been greatly appreciated.

"I now just need some time with my family to heal and recuperate. See you soon, Eamonn."

Among those to wish him well were his workplace GB News, who wrote via their Twitter account: "We hope you feel better soon @EamonnHolmes! Sending love and best wishes from all of us here at GB News."

Eamonn, who is married to Loose Women host Ruth Langsford, revealed last year he had suffered with chronic pain and insomnia for years. He was diagnosed with a dislocated pelvis after months of unrelenting pain.
