Eamonn Holmes issues health update to fans as he returns to work

Eamonn Holmes has issued a health update following his recent period of illness. The GB News presenter, 63, underwent an operation on his back last year after suffering from chronic pain and three slipped discs.

Weeks after his operation, Eamonn broke his shoulder meaning he took some time off to rest. He is now back at work presenting and recovering from his health setbacks, which includes embarking on fitness sessions.

Posting a photograph of himself in training, Eamonn wrote: “Training with my eyes closed. It’s all about regaining my balance. Hard work made harder balancing on one leg.” For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.

The Northern Irish broadcaster was flooded with comments of support. “Brilliant Eamonn. You are amazing. Looking good,” wrote one person.

A second added: “You have the strength of your Mother and the determination @eamonnholmes. Continued healing being sent.” And a third wrote: “Looking great @eamonnholmes. That’s a difficult exercise (on one leg – eyes shut) but it’ll be worth it. Keep up the great work!”

It wasn’t just Eamonn’s fans who were praising him, either. His wife and former This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford commented: “Keep going x,” alongside clapping emojis.

Earlier this year, Eamonn admitted that support for his illness came in an unlikely place - a friendship with S Club 7’s Jo O’Meara. Read more about that here.
