Eamonn Holmes' heartbreaking message to fan as he shares reality of his battle with chronic pain

Eamonn Holmes had a heartbreaking response to a fan who wished him well as he shared how his battle with chronic pain has altered his weekly activities. The GB News presenter has been keeping his loyal followers updated with his health woes and his progress for years after first speaking out about his ill health.

After an initial stint at the hospital with unbearable pain, Eamonn later discovered was being caused by a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve. Previously describing his struggles as 'soul-destroying', the ex-This Morning star also underwent surgery last September to try to help relieve him of pain.

However, he suffered a fall during his recovery, which resulted in him fracturing his shoulder and having to have more surgery. But Eamonn has since been undergoing regular rehab and on Saturday (July 1), he shared on social media how his regular sessions has changed how he'd usually spend his weekends.

"Saturdays.... I used to love them. They used to mean Football. Now they mean Gym," Eamonn tweeted. "Heavy Rehabilitation scheduled every Saturday in particular to strengthen my legs and back to hopefully get me walking unaided again..... but I just don't like it."

The 63-year-old then added: "Wish me well," before the replies were filled with supportive messages. Meanwhile, Eamonn also took to Instagram on Sunday (July 2) to share a video taken during his session.

"This might look easy to you but believe me this was an amazing achievement for me…" Eamonn wrote. "Thanks to everyone at @neurokinex Gym for helping me to get back on my feet bit by bit."

Wife and fellow TV star Ruth Langsford posted: "That’s the spirit!" Former SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton was also among the first to respond to the post, writing: "Yes Eamonn…There is no end to the road, just progression! Do what needs to be done and more." DIY SOS star Nick Knowles commented: "Keep at it yourself! Doing a grand job - wishing you all the best mate."

Singer and actress Martine McCutcheon said: "You are looking so much stronger and well - it’s all paying off Eamonn! You are such a trooper. Give gorgeous Ruth a big cuddle from me please." Former Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer James Jordan added: "Amazing mate!!! Respect."

But one fan, @g.harveybush, left Eamonn sharing a sad comment as the said: "Fantastic Eamonn - knowing you you’ll make it because you’re so, some would say, determined, I’d say bloody minded and stubborn!!" Eamonn replied: "I just want to be better Gill x."
