Eamonn Holmes has been told by fans that he gave them a 'fright' as he sweetly shared how his beloved dog, Maggie, had been a support during his ill health. The GB News presenter has been keeping his loyal followers updated with his health woes after first speaking out a few years ago.
While still appearing on This Morning, Eamonn shared how he'd been suffering from chronic pain and emergency trips to the hospital later found it was being caused by a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve.
After years of struggling, Eamonn finally underwent surgery last September to try to help relieve him of pain. However, he suffered a fall during his recovery, which resulted in him fracturing his shoulder and having to have more surgery.

Eamonn has since been undergoing regular rehab and despite his progress, the 63-year-old still struggles with his mobility and the pain he has sadly been suffering for along time.
But the Northern Irish broadcaster has been trying to carry on as normal and has continued to work on his breakfast show on GB News with co-host Isabel Webster. And when he gets his early morning alarm call, it's not just wife Ruth Langasford by his side.
"Me and my Shadow..." Eamonn typed on Instagram alongside a video of his and Ruth's adorable dog Maggie. "The alarm goes off and every morning at 3am Maggie stands guard until I get up," the TV star added.
It comes after Eamonn had posted a separate photo of rescue pooch Maggie and said: "Just admiring my wee friend Maggie. She's 14 years old ....and for the first time I think she's looking her age. Then again, aren't we all ?"
He added: "I Love that Dog." Loose Women star Ruth was quick to respond, writing: "Our darling girl." But it appears the post did worry some as @booboobear1974 said: "Ah Jesus Eamonn when this pic came up on my feed I thought something had happened to her - you gave me a fright."
She added: "I'm so glad to know she's fine and long may she stay that way. Yes indeed we all have some grey hairs. Unlike Maggie I can dye mine but they're defo still there! She's a beautiful dog."
Last week, Eamonn had a heartbreaking response to a fan who wished him well as he shared how his battle with chronic pain has altered his weekly activities. "Saturdays.... I used to love them. They used to mean Football. Now they mean Gym," Eamonn tweeted.
"Heavy Rehabilitation scheduled every Saturday in particular to strengthen my legs and back to hopefully get me walking unaided again..... but I just don't like it." The 63-year-old then added: "Wish me well," before the replies were filled with supportive messages.
Meanwhile, Eamonn also took to Instagram to share a video taken during his session. "This might look easy to you but believe me this was an amazing achievement for me…" Eamonn wrote. "Thanks to everyone at @neurokinex Gym for helping me to get back on my feet bit by bit."
But one fan, @g.harveybush, left Eamonn sharing a sad comment as the said: "Fantastic Eamonn - knowing you you’ll make it because you’re so, some would say, determined, I’d say bloody minded and stubborn!!" Eamonn replied: "I just want to be better Gill x."
