Eamonn Holmes fractures shoulder whilst recovering from back surgery at home

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes suffered a fall amid his recovery from back surgery that left him requiring another procedure just weeks later.

The 62-year-old underwent an operation on his back at the end of September in a bid to address “pain and restrictions” that he had been experiencing for 18 months.

However, Eamonn was left feeling “gutted” during his recovery at home in Surrey when he fell and fractured his shoulder.

The injury is said to have forced him to undergo a second operation just a couple of weeks after his spinal surgery, though he's now resting and on the road to recovery again.

A spokesperson told the Express : "As a consequence of being laid low by major surgery, Eamonn suffered a fall at home a couple of weeks ago and had to undergo another operation."

"He's naturally gutted by the setback, but the good news is the surgery on his shoulder went well. He's now receiving fantastic care and rest".

They said it means he will likely need a longer period off TV "than he first thought" as he recovers, though he's looking forward to getting back to GB News as soon as possible.

The spokesperson continued: "But despite being in an awful lot of pain, he's remaining positive and is looking forward to doing what he loves most and being back on TV [soon]".

They added: "[He] would like to say thank you for the wonderful care he has received from the NHS. He'd also like to thank everyone who has sent him get-well messages."

The spokesperson concluded by saying that Eamonn - who fronts GB News' Breakfast show with co-host Isabel Webster - is now focused on "resting and getting better".
