Eamonn Holmes has praised police officers after being pulled over by them while driving to work.
While some people might be riled by being stopped for no reason, the former This Morning host said he was 'delighted' by the incident. He thanked the police force for doing their job after they suspected that his expensive car could have been stolen.
Posting about his brief run in with the law on Twitter, the 62-year-old said: "Pulled over by the #Police on the way into work and delighted to be so. A lot of car thefts in my area and they were just checking that the car I was in wasn't one of them... 2 young officers in their 20's and an absolute credit to @SurreyPolice."

In a statement the police explained: "A man in his 60s was stopped by officers in Walton-on-Thames earlier this morning. The officers were carrying out proactive patrols following a recent increase in keyless car thefts in the area."
They explained how they let him go without any repercussions. They added: "It was not necessary to take any further action and the man continued on his journey."
Eamonn's fans praised the Irish TV star for giving honest feedback on Twitter. They claimed it would help police with 'such high profile' people saying nice things about the force.
One user, named The Moustache Cop, said: "Thank you for this feedback, at a time when the Police are under a lot of scrutiny it’s great to see a high profile person like yourself say mg such nice things, credit to the officers as well for the interaction with you."
Julie said: "It must be good for them too to stop someone who isn’t hostile towards them. Hopefully good people are still the majority."
MK said: "Thanks for tweeting this @EamonnHolmes!! We all know it can feel like an inconvenience, but imagine if it was your car that had been stolen.. far more inconvenient! Credit to the officers leaving you feeling it was a positive interaction - that’s a skill in itself!!"
